Lakeside means water first.
Silver Beach runs along the north end of Lake Whatcom off Electric Avenue and Silver Beach Road, a mix of original lake cabins and newer homes built right up to the shoreline. When you build that close to a lake, groundwater isn't a side issue, it's the main one. The water table sits high year-round, and out here it's even higher, so foundations, crawlspaces, and slabs are all fighting moisture that's always present.
Almost everything we do in Silver Beach is about controlling water. Foundation waterproofing on walls that sit near the lake level, footing drains and sump systems to keep crawlspaces and basements dry, and lakeside retaining walls, engineered and drained, to hold the sloped lots that run down toward the water. We dig to the footing, waterproof the wall, set drains in clean gravel, and run discharge lines that actually move the water away rather than circling it back.
